Multilateral Development Banks
Business Development
Since its establishment in 1990, IDO has developed a track record of successful business development experience, assisting construction companies, manufacturers of goods and equipment, and consulting firms to secure a total of EUR 300 million worth of contracts.
We have helped companies in a wide variety of sectors (agriculture, education, energy, environment, health, telecommunications, transportation, water supply and sanitation, etc.) to secure significant contracts funded by the following international financial institutions (IFIs):
African Development Bank
Asian Development Bank
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
European Commission
European Investment Bank
Inter-American Development Bank
World Bank
Information is power - and obtaining complete and accurate information on project opportunities at the earliest possible stage is essential to gaining a competitive advantage. The Internet and public documents are useful tools because they provide descriptions of many projects financed by IFIs. However, companies that are able to establish personal contacts with decision makers in IFIs and officials within implementing agencies benefit from a significant competitive advantage
IDO's value added is our firm's proven ability to introduce our client companies to these decision makers while also providing early and reliable market intelligence not publicly available, thereby positioning our clients to secure IFI-funded contracts. IDO also provides each client company with systemic project updates and expert advice on how to successfully pursue contract opportunities.
Special Project
Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) first became an IDO client in 1991. Our firm managed the International Financial Institutions Project on behalf of S-GE from 2009 to 2013, through which IDO: (a) organized and led delegations of Swiss companies to the headquarters of the major IFIs; (b) ran seminars on how to successfully identify and pursue IFI-financed business opportunities; and (c) provided training to companies in Switzerland interested in securing IFI-funded contracts in emerging markets.
