Osec has engaged IDO to provide hands-on training to win contracts with the main International Financial Institutions (IFIs) to interested Swiss companies.  The training sessions are free of charge and were held in September, October and November 2011.  

With nearly 25 years of experience working with the IFIs, IDO provided each registered company representative with 60-90 minutes of one-on-one training, tailored to the specific capabilities and business objectives of each company.

Additional training sessions are currently in planning for 2012.

Since 1991, IDO has been repeatedly contracted by the official export promotion agency of Switzerland (Osec) to organize and lead missions to international financial institutions (IFIs).  

Currently, IDO is managing an Osec-sponsored project that helps business leaders from Switzerland to effectively identify and pursue opportunities through IFIs.  This program is comprised of two components: information events and business development missions.

IFI information events

• From 15 to 17 September 2009, information briefings were held in Zurich, Bern and Lausanne. Representatives from Swiss consulting firms, goods and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and construction companies participated and learned about procurement rules and procedures as well as business opportunities financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank.

• IDO and Osec organized information events in Zurich and Geneva on 22 and 23 April 2010.  Participants from more than 100 Swiss companies participated in these events, which focused on new business opportunities and the relevant procurement aspects of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

• On 15 September 2010, Osec and IDO organized an information event in Zurich, addressing business opportunities financed by the EBRD, the IDB and the World Bank.  Following the structure of the previous information briefings, this event also served as preparation for upcoming business development missions to the EBRD in London (27-28 October 2010) and to the IDB and the World Bank in Washington, D.C. (8-10 December 2010).

• On 26 January 2011, Osec and IDO hosted an information event in Zurich, addressing business opportunities financed by the ADB and the AfDB.  This event also served as preparation for upcoming business development missions to the ADB in Manila (1-3 March 2011) and to the AfDB in Tunis.  Due to the recent events in Tunisia and other North African countries, the exact date of this mission still needs to be confirmed.
